Ministry Opportunities

Connect

Our Sunday Service is the heart of our connection to Christ, but Westfield offers a multitude of opportunities for fellowship. We offer six adult Sunday school classes at Westfield that range in participant age and topics. There are also classes for children aged two through 12th grade.

Serve Christ Joyfully

Click below to find out more about how you can give back some of what God has graciously given to you. We have a number of serving ministries that originate from within our congregation and others from outside Westfield.

Coffee & Conversation

Each Sunday morning coffee and refreshments are provided from 9:30am to 12:30pm. This provides a chance for people to enjoy a cup of coffee and/or tea and catch up with friends.

Visitors are always invited. Volunteer make coffee and make sure that refreshments (donuts, coffee cake, fruit, etc.) are provided.

Fellowship is an important part of church life and this is a great way for you to serve and get to know people.

Chancel Choir

If you enjoy music and like to sing this may be just the ministry for you. Our Chancel Choir
rehearses every Wednesday from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. We sing traditional as well as contemporary music.

We would love to have you. We sing a lot, laugh a lot, and love to lead worship.

Stephen Ministers

Stephen Ministry trains caregivers who provide one to one confidential Christian care to people in our congregation and community experiencing challenges in life – grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, and many other life difficulties. To learn how to become a Stephen Minister or to receive care from a Stephen Minister contact the Westfield Church office.

Prayer Chains

Prayer chains are made up of individuals within a congregation who commit themselves to receive prayer requests, to offer petitions or words of thanksgiving, and quite often—although not always—to pass these on. Westfield’s Prayer Chain may be activated by calling or emailing the church office or by contacting Barbara Downs at 724-667-0955, Becky Turner 724-730-0815 (cell), or Maribeth Jones 724-667-7929 or 724-651-1096. Westfield maintains a phone chain and an email chain

Senior Adult Ministry (JOY)

JOY is Just Older Youth, our ministry for senior adults age 50 and older. Open to Westfield members, friends, and the Westfield community, JOY meets every Thursday at noon for faith, food, fun and fellowship. Exercise begins at 11a.m. each week. All are welcome for strengthening, balance, and low-impact exercises.

We seek to glorify God, grow in faith, serve the Lord and others, and enjoy the life God’s given us. Jessie Yauch is our Director of Senior Ministry. Contact her at jessieyauch@gmail.com.

Faithful Bells

Not to belabor the obvious but this group rings bells! We play in worship about once a month and perform outside the church as well. We also play at special services.

We rehearse weekly from September through May.

Please contact Marcy McClymonds if you are interested.

Free Community Meals

A Community Meal is offered free of charge to anyone on the last Wednesday of every month from
5-6:30 p.m.

Volunteers set up tables, greet guests, serve food, help in the kitchen, make specific food items ahead of time and clean up. Our needs are varied and we’d love to have you as part of our team.

Youth Organization (YO!)

Westfield Presbyterian YO! is for those in grades 7-12 in our church and community.

Sign up for text messages by texting “JoinYO” to “94000” and stay up to date on all YO! related information. Events can also be found on the church calendar.

Production Team

Our production team doesn’t just push buttons. They help us experience Jesus by creating an excellent, distraction-free environment. They set the stage, literally and figuratively, for people to hear the most significant message of all time – the Gospel.

Our team is available each Sunday morning and on special occasions. Some technical knowledge is preferred but not necessary. We will train.

MoCo House

Mohawk Coffee House seeks to provide a positive and safe environment, to provide quality products and service as well as a space for fellowship and outreach, and to build the Mohawk community and disciples of Christ.
