Summer’s in full swing with lots of fun activities. Who wants to heat up the kitchen preparing a meal? Save some “energy” and stop over for our free community meal from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28.
Westfield’s annual outdoor worship and all-church picnic is Sunday, July 16.
Join us for worship outside at 11:00 a.m. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket.
For the picnic, please bring a side dish (last names A-M) or a dessert (last names N-Z).
The Deacons will provide chicken and the drinks. There will be lots of fun games like kickball, bocce, cornhole, Frisbee golf, an bubbles for the little ones.
Also on July 16 we will have a “Safe in the Sun” collection to give to Mohawk students through the Summer Eats food program. Please donate sunglasses, hats and sun screen (SPF 15 or higher).
We are having a Tuesday morning activity for kids K-6 that runs from June 20 – August 8 (excepting July 4). The time is 10-12 and it will include a movie, snack and craft.
Our hope and plan is to continue building relationships with the students we meet through our summer VBS program and to give parents a couple hours off each week. Our movie schedule is listed below. We hope you plan to attend. See David Champ for any questions you may have about this new ministry!

It’s time for our Heritage Picnic! For anyone born in 1952 or earlier (and a guest) we hope you can join us on Saturday, June 10, at noon at the pavilion for a delicious picnic lunch followed by a brief program. Reservations are due by June 4. You can call the church office, or just fill out and submit the information below. Nothing to bring, except a chair if you’d like. Hope to see you there!
At 7 p.m. on May 21 there will be a baccalaureate service at Mohawk High School. Featured speaker is Jeremy Lutz. Members of the high school choir will participate and refreshments, including a sundae bar, will be offered following the service. The community is welcome to attend to support, celebrate and encourage our local graduates.
Promotion and Graduation Sunday is May 21. We look forward to promoting our Sunday School students to the next grade as well as recognizing our high school and post-high graduates. Following worship, join us for a brunch in honor of all graduates.

Join us from June 12 through June 16 from 9 – 12 for an exciting, fun-filled week at Maker Fun Factory VBS. Discover how you were “Created by God and Built for a Purpose.” The week will be filled with discovering God’s word through Bible stories, fun games, music, great science experiments at Imagination Station, delicious snacks, a mission project and KidVid Cinema. Meet the Bible buddies, make new friends, and learn how to apply God’s word to your daily life!
There will be a family picnic on Friday, June 16 and a program on Sunday, June 18 during worship. Please register in person on Monday, June 12.
Parents, you MUST register your child for VBS by May 28 in order to get a VBS t-shirt to wear during the week.

Join our training/conditioning team for this year’s Java Jog that benefits MoCo House! We will meet at Westfield at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 8, and 15.
The 4th Annual Java Jog will be held Memorial Day, May 29, 2017. This 5k run / 2-mile walk starts at Bessemer Presbyterian Church on North Main Street. Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m./Java Jog begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration fee is $20 and if registered by May 19 you will receive a free t-shirt. All proceeds benefit MoCo House, located on East Poland Avenue, a non-profit coffee house, dedicated to creating a positive environment, providing quality products, and building the Mohawk community. Registration forms are located in the narthex or register at the MoCo House web site here.
Kitchen Cleanup! We are blessed to have a wonderful kitchen facility in our church and happy that so many groups benefit from the use of the kitchen. (Think of all the delicious food you’ve enjoyed here!) On Monday, May 1, at 6:00 p.m. we will be wiping down the cupboards, walls, and vent hood as well as scrubbing the floor. You’re invited! Share an hour or so of fellowship with our team as we care for this part of God’s house.
