Easter Prayer Vigil Walk – 4 p.m. Good Friday to Midnight on Saturday

The Way of the Cross

Easter Prayer Vigil Walk

4 p.m. Good Friday to Midnight on Saturday

There will be twelve “stops” on your prayer walk through the sanctuary. At each stop you will find a paper that guides you through scripture, meditation, and prayer. Use the sign-up poster in the back of the church so we are sure there will be two people praying each hour.

We are extending an invitation to the community to stop in and participate in the vigil on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You are welcome to stop in at any time between those hours and spend time in prayer and meditation remembering the events of the Passion and death of our Lord Jesus. Prayer is a powerful privilege. Find one hour to think about how amazing our God is and consider how worthy He is of an hour of our time.

Mission Mats for the Homeless

MISSION MATS FOR THE HOMELESS

Join us every Wednesday night from 6-8 p.m. until further notice for mat making. We need helpers of all ages to cut and tie bags, and do a  simple crochet stitch. You don’t need to bring anything, but you may bring scissors and/or a size N or larger crochet hook.

The Mission Team needs your help.  SAVE YOUR PLASTIC BAGS!  That’s right, we need all the plastic bags you can provide to us. We are going to make sleeping mats for the homeless folks of Charleston, WV and will deliver them to the West Virginia Ministry & Advocacy Workcamps agency that we will be working with on our mission trip in June. It takes between 700 and 800 bags to crochet a mat 6 feet by 3 feet in size. If you are willing to help, please take a minute to lay the bags flat and bring them to church and stack in the box provided in the coat rack area.  Thanks for your help with this project.

Here are some examples:

Foundations of Hope

We have entered the fulfillment stage of our Foundations of Hope campaign and have had questions about how to make out checks.  A separate interest bearing account has been established for Foundations of Hope.  All donations will go into that account. Please make out your checks to Westfield Presbyterian Church and put in the memo line Foundations of Hope.  Feel free to put them in the offering plate on Sunday morning or send them to the church office.  If you would like to make a gift of stock please contact Ted Feitt at Huntington Bank and he will guide you through the process and help you obtain the forms you need to make the transaction.

Foundations of Hope envelopes are being printed and they should be available soon. We continue to work on building design and when the final design is complete it will be presented to the congregation for your approval.  Thank you for your generosity, and your vision for ministry.

Project HOPE food bank

Items for the project HOPE Food Bank in January are cake mixes, frosting, pudding, and Jell-o. Please leave your items in the labeled bins in the coat rack area. Monetary donations are also welcome. Please make checks payable to Westfield with “HOPE Food” on the memo line.
